Welcome! The Performance Studies Focus Group (PSFG) at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) invites you to SPECTACULAR LABOR, the 2016 PSFG Pre-Conference.

SPECTACULAR LABOR will engage theories, practices, and methodologies at the intersection of performance, labor, and work. Our keynote “Nina Simone and the Work of Minoritarian Performance” is by Joshua Chambers-Letson, Assistant Professor of Performance Studies at Northwestern University. There will also be papers and performances, as well as time for lively conversation over breakfasts, lunch, and an evening reception.
